Summary:
The Product Specialist at Spudnik Equipment Company is responsible for providing comprehensive product support to employees, customers, vendors, and dealers. This support is focused in several key areas including sales, engineering, technical, and warranty support. For that reason, the Specialist will rely on specific knowledge of engineering and manufacturing principles when coordinating with team members on projects and prototypes. Teamwork and customer service skills are important as the Specialist works directly and indirectly with employees, managers, supervisors, customers, dealers and outside vendors. The Product Specialist will work in a variety of environments and will be required to travel up to an estimated 30% annually. The Product Specialist will consistently demonstrate a high level of responsibility and accountability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Become a technical expert for Spudnik's product line, including prototype models;
Develop and deliver high quality technical trainings to sales consultants, service technicians, outside shop personnel, and dealers as needed;
Receive incoming technical support, set-up, and operation inquiries and respond with the appropriate levels of effectiveness and efficiency in order to provide timely resolutions;
Provide set-up and repair assistance to Sales and Service departments when requested;
Produce Post-Delivery Inspection documents for each model of equipment, revising documents as necessary with model changes and updates;
Collaborate with Engineering departments to address all known issues from previous season in order to create effective resolutions before the next season;
Actively communicate with Engineering departments when Service Bulletins must be created and execute the necessary follow-through to ensure that all known issues are addressed and resolved for each machine;
Create monthly Service Bulletin reports per model number and be prepared to present information to Management team;
Generate performance reports by model on a regular basis that address areas such as all open operational or engineering issues, all potential engineering changes, feedback from customers, and trends in support calls and warranty claims from previous season;
Meet with Production Management team frequently to review current warranty claims and determine approval status
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 1-year experience in agricultural industry with experience in potato industry preferred;
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Agricultural or similar engineering field, or three to five years of similarly related workplace experience;
Strong understanding and of and ability to work with hydraulic, electronic, and mechanical systems and components;
Ability to calculate, analyze, and track figures and competently make decision based on those figures;
Ability to successfully manage, prioritize, and organize multiple projects, deadlines, and tasks with little supervision in both team and independent environments;
Excellent troubleshooting, critical thinking, and analytical skills;
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to communicate in groups or one-on-one settings;
Commitment to excellent customer service for both internal and external customers;
Ability to effectively work with ERP system, spreadsheets, word processing documents, and other applicable computer systems and software.
